IDEA I’M PONDERING
One of the great joys in life is being stuck and then getting unstuck.
The “Aha” moment. The "I finally get it" feeling.
The only way to experience that joy is to put yourself in positions where you're going to get stuck. Positions just outside your comfort zone.
The real beauty of those positions is that they show you what you're capable of. They expose you to the struggle, toil, and delight of being human.
They provide meaning.
WATCHING & RE-WATCHING

Jon Rahm’s Winning Putt at the BMW Championship
If you watch golf, you’ll know how ridiculous Jon Rahm’s putt to win the BMW Championship was.
If you don’t, Rahm was in a playoff against the world number 1. He was 20 times more likely to three-putt than one-putt. He had no right to come close to that putt, let alone sink it.
This video of him making it is full of energy and passion. Few things are better than sport at providing this kind of energy and excitement.
After the round, Rahm said:
"I just wanted to get it up there and hope that I had a makeable par putt coming back."
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just give yourself a chance. Do what you can, and let the result take care of itself.
Not only does it free you to do your best work, it stops you from limiting yourself to what you think is possible.
